China Species Specialist Group (ChSSG) was established as one of the strategic pilots for the National Species Specialist Group (NSSG) of IUCN Species Survival Commission (SSC), as an interspecies “brain- trust” to support China, the host nation of Convention of Biological Diversity CoP 15, to implement its ambitious national biodiversity strategy and action plan (NBSAP), and to enable China as a national champion, to catalyze progress on Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF).
