IUCN Africa at the World Conservation Congress 2025
At the World Conservation Congress (WCC) 2025, IUCN Africa will take center stage at the Africa Pavilion, showcasing African-led solutions in conservation and addressing key issues impacting the continent now, and in the years ahead.
The Pavilion will serve as a dynamic hub for IUCN Africa Members and African delegates, offering a space for:
- Launching key African and subregional collaborations, agreements and publications
- Hosting Member events and action planning
- Celebrating African conservation achievements
- Facilitating networking and working meetings
- A platform for African leadership in conservation
The Africa Pavilion will drive discussions on discussing and deliberating on sustainable solutions to our current and foreseen pressing challenges and co-developing inclusive roadmaps with diverse stakeholders including our Members, Indigenous Peoples & Local Communities (IP&LCs), governments, the private sector, and funding partners. It will also provide a forum to deliberate on key issues ahead of the Members’ Assembly, ensuring African perspectives shape global conservation agendas.
Partners:
Led by the IUCN Secretariat offices in PACO, MED and ESARO, the organisation of the pavilion will include many partners, including particularly IUCN Members and Commissions, as well as IUCN Councillors for Africa. The Secretariat will endeavour to bring on board key State Members (as well as regional bodies and the AU) to partner on the Africa Pavilion and thus create space for strong leadership engagements at the Pavilion to drive the African conservation agenda.
