As a founding partner of the Global Partnership on Ecological Connectivity (GPEC), IUCN’s World Commission on Protected Areas Connectivity Conservation Specialist Group (CCSG) joins institutional collaborators around the world to advance connectivity for habitats and species through on-the-ground action. GPEC was launched at CMS/CoP-14 to increase cooperation across multiple stakeholders, sectors, and national boundaries to support ongoing and new connectivity-related initiatives and efforts.

This GPEC-led event will present progress and showcase connectivity-related actions addressing threats to and promoting the conservation of migratory species. Participants will learn about recent advances in innovative approaches for planning, financing, and implementing initiatives activities that they can apply to advance connectivity conservation including existing and upcoming tools for countries to plan, report, and track progress.
