Mr Jeong Ill JEON
Have received bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees from the Department of Forest Resources, Seoul National University, Korea. Worked as an assistant curator and researcher at Seoul National University Arboretum, and as an exchange researcher at the Nanjing Botanical Garden, China. Since 2001, have been a professor of the Department of Horticulture Design of Shingu College. Also working as the director of Shingu Botanic Garden of Shingu College at the present.

KPSG aims to be an authoritative source of plant conservation in Korea, to play an influential and valued role in national biodiversity planning and development, to develop national capacity in plant conservation, to be a mechanism to introduce IUCN/SSC material and protocols to the Korean conservation community and to pursue all of the above through active collaboration and from exchange of information with relevant partners.
Specialist Group work
We aim to identify Important Plant Areas for Korea and ensure effect protections, identify and access threatened plant species in Korea and ensure effective protection, and collaborate directly with Government of Korea on national biodiversity planning.

To inform conservation efforts, KPSG assesses species for the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.
