The World Heritage Committee has requested in 2018 that the State Parties complete the transboundary management framework for the Western Tien Shan World Heritage site, with the support of IUCN (Decision 42 COM 7B.69). The transboundary cooperation will be improved through harmonisation of programs among its seven protected areas, that would ensure comparability of indicators and methodologies resulting in the improved position for joint conservation actions.
