The members of the Mediterranean Islands Collective (MIC) will develop a joint vision and strategy to ensure a well-governed and coordinated project, which will be independently successful beyond 2022. A consultation will be developed at different levels of the MIC and local partners to ensure maximum engagement with, participation from and representation of Mediterranean islands’ stakeholders. An Action Plan, informed by the strategy, will be developed to be implemented after 2022. The action plan will be made of priority intervention areas with activities that can be carried out simultaneously across different Mediterranean islands. These joint activities will focus on scaling-up and sharing best practice solutions, networking, capacity-building, advocacy and policy efforts and fundraising.
Demonstrating the effectiveness of collective work these pilot actions are made up of small innovative replicable projects to tackle common major environmental challenges facing Mediterranean islands.
