This grant agreement from the French Biodiversity Agency (Office Français pour la Biodiversité; OFB) is taking place in the framework of the post-2020 global biodiversity strategy. This project aims at contributing to the implementation of the IMPANA agenda for the development of a global network of Marine Protected Areas by 2030 and beyond.

The overarching goal is to make progress in the global ocean conservation strategy, in the assessment of the implementation of the Aichi Marine Targets under the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), in particular for Marine Protected Areas in the high seas.

The specific objectives for the preparation of the post-2020 global biodiversity strategy and the mobilisation of relevant actors in the framework of this project are to:
1. Develop a strategic plan for a global network of MPAs
2. Facilitate the MPA Agencies Partnership (MPAAP)
3. Host High Seas workshop series
4. Communicate IMMAs outcomes to policy makers as part of the science to policy process
5. Promote IMPANA actions at the global level
