This project, as part of the FEBA network, will promote knowledge sharing among the agencies and organisations involved in EbA initiatives so as to improve EbA practices and showcase its effectiveness for enhancing human climate resilience. By developing technical and position papers, international policy negotiations and processes will be informed and influenced so that they better incorporate EbA into adaptation planning. To promote such knowledge sharing the project will establish a small and efficient networking secretariat, facilitate the development of discussion and position papers amongst FEBA members; and convene FEBA meetings as part of various international events. The project assumes (and this is based on demand and interest in such networking to date) that stakeholders will cooperate to share data and lesson, and work together to develop knowledge products that contribute towards informing and influencing policy processes. This risk will be managed through dedicated resources to compile and analyse available data and careful selection of working partners to work together at this level. Moreover, the intended outputs and outcomes would also contribute towards the functioning of FEBA member organisations for the more effective delivery of EbA projects both in terms of implementation and of policy influence. So common interest will encourage collaboration.
Outcome: Cooperation and coordination is enhanced by the FEBA network among those implementing EBA, resulting in stronger evidence-based policy influence.
This outcome is supported by the following three outputs:
Output 1: Knowledge Management: Knowledge generation (empirical evidence, approaches, lessons, tools, methodologies, guidelines etc.) is facilitated and coordinated.
Output 2: Influencing Policy and Practice: Technical and policy influencing knowledge is produced and disseminated during international policy and planning processes.
Output 3: FEBA network support and management: A small and efficient FEBA secretariat in place and efficiently run, with the FEBA network established and sustainable over the longer term.
