After a successful Phase 1 (Sept 2019-June 2021), supported by EDF, EDP and Shell, which led to the development of Guidelines for Mitigating biodiversity impacts associated with solar and wind energy development and Guidance for early risk screening which can be used both by project developers and financiers, Phase 2 will be supported by a greater number of companies and will be structured around multiple activities. This will generate an acceleration of the paste at which we deliver knowledge and tools needed by the key actors in the industry, governments and finance sectors.

1. Support a stronger demand for more responsibly produced raw materials necessary to produce renewable energy components.
2. Promote the need for assessing early on the cumulative impacts of renewable energy developments.
3. Promote the concept and tools to identify “Go Areas”.
4. Demonstrate how renewable energy projects can achieve a net positive impact on biodiversity.
