Summary findings and practical applications of a Species Threat Abatement and Restoration (STAR) assessment in Kenya and Cameroon under The Restoration Initiative

This brief presents a summary of findings from the assessment of the biodiversity conservation potential of The Restoration Initiative (TRI) project sites in Cameroon and Kenya using the Species Threat Abatement and Recovery (STAR) methodology.

The brief also presents practical applications of the STAR metric to support prioritising conservation efforts and enabling a targeted approach to conservation and restoration in areas with significant biodiversity. The STAR scores can be used to justify projects to donors and decision-making bodies, communicate important information to policymakers, local communities, investors, and other relevant stakeholders, and support conservation efforts in cross-boundary landscapes.
