IUCN suggested actions by theme for OOC11

The following key messages reflect IUCN's institutional positions across the six thematic pillars of OOC11 and the additional theme of Local Community Engagement. They are grounded in IUCN's authoritative science, the resolutions and motions, and the operational evidence generated through IUCN's programmes at global and regional level, including in Africa. 

These messages are intended for delivery in plenary interventions, side events, and bilateral engagements with senior policymakers, ministers, development partners and institutional partners. They position Africa, and IUCN's presence in Africa, as an agenda-shaping force in global ocean governance.
