Kathy has been a dear friend of my wife Suze and mine since we met in Indonesia in 1980. Kathy helped ease us into life there and many culinary adventures. That was her very human side. We remained friends and colleagues bound by our commitment to protected areas, mine primarily in or beside the sea. Kathy set an inspiring example through her prodigious energy devoted to WCPA, IUCN matters, and conservation broadly. We will miss Kathy enormously and all the good she did for our planet.
