I recall Kathy MacKinnon's leadership
(as Senior Biodiversity Specialist for The World Bank), as our consortium of Australian and PNG scientists embarked (25 years ago) on a whole country biodiversity planning project for Papua New Guinea. She guided the integration of PNG indigenous areas ("Wildlife Management Areas") into biodiversity inclusive planning for PNG.
This stands as a model for effective integration of indigenous plural values of nature with global values of biodiversity.
