In Eastern and Southern Africa, the BIOPAMA programme works with existing institutions in the regions to establish the Regional Resource Hubs (RRH). This will be a regional node for the BIOPAMA Reference Information System (RIS) – an online platform to facilitate the exchange and use of data/information and to implement relevant capacity building initiatives for the region.

The RIS will gather in one place the information from many knowledge products, projects, databases on protected areas, species and related information, in addition to data uploaded and generated by users themselves. This information can be used to support decision-making for planning, designating and managing protected areas.

This webinar will present on how to use the new RIS to explore and discover data, to help users understand how to publish and document data, and what kinds of things are appropriate/relevant to share.

A second webinar, on data use and analysis, will be hosted on Wednesday 13 March 2019.
