Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority

Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority (ZimParks) is a successor to the Department of National Parks and Wildlife Management. ZimParks falls under the Ministry of Environment, Climate, and Wildlife and it was established under the Parks and Wildlife Act of 1996 (Chapter 20:14) as amended by Act Number 19 of 2001 (under review). The Authority is mandated to control, manage and maintain national parks, botanical reserves and botanical gardens, sanctuaries, safari areas and recreational parks in Zimbabwe. It also has a regulatory function for all wildlife both inside and outside the protected area Estate, including communal areas and conservancies
