Kenya Wildlife Service is a State Corporation (Government agency ) established by an Act of Parliament, Cap 376 of the Laws of Kenya Its overall mandate is to conserve and manage wildlife in Kenya and enforce related laws and regulations
The functions of KWS include , conserving and managing national parks , wildlife conservation areas and sanctuaries , provide security for wildlife and visitors in national parks, wildlife conservation areas and sanctuaries, prepare and implement national park Management Plans, undertake and conduct law enforcement activities such as anti-poaching, wildlife crime investigations, grant permits, administer and implement wildlife -related MEAs
