International symposium on the impacts of and alternatives to systemic pesticides on biodiversity and ecosystems

On March 31, IUCN organised a symposium at the Yezin Agricultural University together with the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Irrigation (MOALI) and the IUCN Task Force on Systemic Pesticides.

The symposium, which was opened by the MOALI Minister, was a step in implementing one of the Myanmar NBSAP 2015-2020 targets under Aichi Target 8: By 2020, the sale and use of pesticides with a significant negative impact on biodiversity and ecosystem services are effectively controlled and where appropriate banned.
