Nationalpark Hohe Tauern

The Nationalpark Hohe Tauern is the largest nationalpark throughout the Alps and the only one in Austria that features glaciers. As the park covers areas in the three provinces of Salzburg, the Tyrol and Carinthia, each provincial part has its own administrational office. In addition there exists the "Sekretariat des Nationalparkrates Hohe Tauern" which is the coordinating office between the three provinces, headed by one of the directors from the three provinces. They have a 2 year turn and rotate in the position of the managing director of the secretariat.
