Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve

The DDCR - home to the only free-roaming herds of protected Arabian Oryx in Dubai - was created in 2003 as a protected area to conserve the natural resources of Dubai’s inland desert and restore the natural fauna and flora of the reserve to its natural state. It comprises 225 square kilometres—almost 5% of the emirate’s total area.
