TREE AID

TREE AID is a specialist international development organisation headquartered in the UK and working in 5 countries in west and east Africa. We believe that the conservation, restoration and management of trees and forests is essential to create income opportunities for poor communities, combat climate change and prevent desertification. We empower poor rural communities to make the most of the tree resources available to them. We help them build the knowledge and skills necessary to manage trees and forests effectively in order to achieve higher incomes, deliver improvements in their environment, create additional sources of food and become resilient to unpredictable weather patterns. We bridge the gap between policy and practice and work with both government and communities to develop and implement good forest governance that secures access and rights to tree resources for poor rural communities. We work across four themes: natural resource management and agroforestry , forest governance, enterprise development and trade, and food security and nutrition.
