Ministry of Land and Environment Protection

The Ministry of Land and Environment Protection(MoLEP) was established in 1962 and is located at Kwangbok-dong No 2, Mangyongdae District, Pyongyang, DPR of Korea. MoLEP has several departments including Land Planning Dep, Environment Protection Dep, Land Supervision Dep, Fish Resource Supervision Dep, Disaster Protection Dep, General Bureau of Forest, Road Construction and Maintainance Dep, External Economic Cooperation Dep, Financial Affairs Dep, Planning Dep and so on. Many institutites and planning agencies like the Academy of Forest science, Environment and the Development Center are under the ministry., It has comprehensive institutional arrangement from central to county level to fully implement the national environmental laws and regulations, and gives directions and guidance in executing the national land development and management, environment -related affairs at each level.
