Environmental Sciences Department

Environmental science has founded in 2008 at Salahaddin University-Hawler and it is an interdisciplinaryacademic field that integrates physical, biological and information sciences (including ecology, biology, physics, chemistry, plant science, zoology, mineralogy, limnology, soil science, geology and physical geography (geodesy), and atmospheric science to the study of the environment, and the solution of environmental problems. The department has more than 200 alumni and around 25 lecturers. We arrange several environmental activities on 16th April every year (Kurdistan Environmental Day) with other departments, NGOs and private companies to share our knowledge as well as to raise environmental awareness about mitigating pollution, conservation of biodiversity, tackling environmental issues and etc.
