Betty Ford Alpine Gardens

Betty Ford Alpine Gardens is the highest botanical garden in North America, located in Vail, Colorado. At 8,200ft in the Rocky Mountains we specialize in growing a collection of alpine plants from around the world. We hold the nationally accredited collection of Colorado's Alpine Flora along with about 3000 other taxa of mountain species. We authored the North American Botanic Garden Strategy for Alpine Plan Conservation and have a vision to "be the leading global advocates for the alpine environment". We have a strong education program focused on educating the public to understand and appreciate the alpine environment.
