ISLAND BIODIVERSITY AND CONSERVATION

Island Biodiversity and Conservation is an NGO associated to the University of Seychelles (UniSey). It runs the UniSey IBC centre, that was launched by the Seychelles Minister for Environment. It employs 3 permanent staff, hosts MSc and PhD students, and volunteer interns, and has 20 conservationists/scientists members that contribute volontarily (advise, publications or research projects), or through specific technical consultancies. IBC has led major conservation projects such as control and eradication of invasive vertebrates, vegetation restoration and translocation of rare and endangered species on islands. It has contributed to over 60 scientific publications and one technical book.
