Indian Ocean Tortoise Alliance

The Indian Ocean Tortoise Alliance (IOTA) is a Seychelles-based non-profit organization committed to the conservation, restoration, and rewilding of Aldabra giant tortoises and their habitats throughout the Western Indian Ocean. IOTA partners with governments, NGOs, scientists, and local communities to restore ecosystems where tortoises serve as keystone species. Together with its partners, IOTA carries out field research, population monitoring, translocations, capacity building, and public engagement. IOTA is a small organization, led predominantly by a Seychellois team and guided by a board comprising both local and international members.
