Africa Nature Investors Foundation
Africa Nature Investors Foundation aims to catalyse the participation of African opinion leaders in conservation and to demonstrate private sector investment in protected areas can enable them to become engines for development. ANI believes the private sector should finance wildlife conservation and pioneered a Public Private Partnership co-management model for Gashaka Gumti and Okomu National Parks, the first in Nigeria for the national park system. In both parks, we protect biodiversity by strengthening law enforcement and support communities with education, health, agriculture, and pastoralism. We are working towards sustainable finance for this work from carbon credits and eco-tourism.
