Arab Network for Environment and Development

The Arab Network for Environment and Development (RAED) is an Arab network with more than 250 NGOs members from Arab Countries, in North Africa and West Asia. It was established in 1990 during the preparations for the Earth Summit of Rio de Janeiro . The Arab League has recognized RAED as the representative of the civil society in the Council of Arab Ministers Responsible for the Environment (CAMRE), as well as the Arab Water Council. At the international level, UN approved designating RAED the consultancy status at the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) since 1996.
