The custodian of the Cape Floral Kingdom. CapeNature has a global responsibility towards the conservation of biodiversity, natural systems and ecological processes in the Cape Floral Kingdom.
The lead implementing agent for C.A.P.E.(Cape Action for People and the Environment)- a twenty-year strategy to secure the biodiversity of the Cape Floral Kingdom while delivering local social and economic benefits.
A driving force behind local rural economic development through active partnerships with communities and development projects.
The largest implementing agent for Working for Water - an award-winning conservation and social development programme. CapeNature played a definitive role in the initiation of this national water conservation programme based on the removal of alien vegetation from water catchments.
The conservation manager of more than 1,5 million hectares, or nine percent, of the land surface of the Western Cape - one of the nine provinces in South Africa.
The driver of partnership-based conservation initiatives and land management programmes totalling more than 70 conservation areas or 700 000ha.
Subscriber to more than fifty international environmental protocols and conventions.
