The Department of Environment, Universities, Research, and Mar Menor is the department of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia responsible for proposing, developing, and implementing the general guidelines of the Government Council in the following areas: environment; industry, energy, and mining; forestry policy, hunting, and river fishing, and wildlife protection. It also assumes the competencies and functions related to the study, planning, execution, and development of projects and actions in the Mar Menor concerning the protection and environmental regeneration of its ecosystem.
