Fundacion La Iguana
Fundacion La Iguana is a non-profit organization, working since 2011 for the conservation of Ecuador's biodiversity. We research, reproduce, and plant native and endemic plants to establish urban forests, thus building biodiverse cities. Our team is formed by a multidisciplinary group of experts, and we maintain partnerships with universities and herbaria to conduct high-quality research on species identification and quantification of the benefits of native urban forests.
The results of our research are shared with local governments, communities, and academia to reduce the knowledge gap of local flora species, especially regarding herbs and shrubs, and to raise environmental awareness.
