Great Mountain Forest Corporation

Great Mountain Forest Corp. is a not-for-profit 501 ©3 private operating foundation managing more than 6,000 acres of contiguous public-access land in the towns of Norfolk and Canaan, Connecticut. It is one of the oldest forest-conservation legacy organizations in the nation, providing a watershed to metropolitan areas to the south and serving as an ecological corridor for wildlife and migratory birds. Its principal activities include sustainable forestry management, ecological research, education, forestry-career training and community outreach. It participates in the Forest Legacy Program administered by the U.S. Forest Service and is committed to carbon sequestration for the next 100 years.
