Green Cross Burkina Faso

GCBF is a Green Cross National Organization (within Green Cross International) with a regional agenda. It was established in 1995 and is run by a Board of Directors, an Executive Secretariat and a Scientific and Technical Council. It is active in Burkina Faso via three Regional Offices in Ouahigouya, Ouagadougou and Bobo-Dioulasso, and works mainly in three fields: - Natural resource management - Promotion of sustainable agriculture - Preventing conflicts related to natural resource management. GC has contributed to the implementation of the UNEP/GEF-Volta project and IUCN/PAGEV (Project for Improving Water Governance in the Volta River Basin), and coordinated the Water For Peace/PCCP-UNES project.
