Highlanders Association

Highlanders Association (HA) was established in 2001 through a comprehensive discussion with indigenous communities in the province. The objective of the association gives power and ownership to indigenous communities to protect their lands, natural resources and identity. HA officially registered with Ministry of Interior (MoI) on 15th October 2007. Currently, HA has been working with 70 communities in 34 communes, 15 districts, in five provinces of Ratanakiri, Mondulkiri, Kratie, Stung Treng and Preah Vihear. Those indigenous communities are 11 indigenous groups include Tompoun, Kreung, Brao, Jarai, Kachak, Kavet, Lon, Bunong, Kui, Khounh, and Thmoun.
