The Kurdistan Regional Government - Iraq is a regional government that is the elected governing authority of the Kurdistan Region in Iraq. The authority and powers of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) are enshrined in the Iraqi Constitution of 2005. The KRG's administrative area is over 40,000 square km, with a population of 6.37 million persons. The KRG comprises 19 ministries and several departments and boards, which have been established through the laws of the Kurdistan Parliament, the Region's legislature.
