Island Conservation

Island Conservation is headquartered in Santa Cruz, CA with field offices in New Zealand, British Columbia, Chile, Ecuador, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico. Since our founding in 1994, Island Conservation and our partners have successfully restored 63 islands worldwide, benefiting 1173 populations of 468 species and subspecies. In a given year, Island Conservation typically works with over 100 partners, including governments, nonprofit organizations, and local community groups, and indigenous peoples. IC's conservation operations are based on the best available conservation science information. In addition to developing the first global database of the world's threatened insular species and the islands on which they occur, IC plans and implements the eradication of damaging invasive vertebrates on islands of globally significant biodiversity, and supports those projects with significant post-eradication monitoring and conservation measures.
