Japan Wildlife Conservation Society
Established by scientists, lawyers and conservationist, JWCS conducts studies and research to understand the current situation of wildlife, especially commercial utilization, with a focus on international trade. The organization collaborates with intergovernmental bodies, governments and NGOs to improve international conservation policies and makes recommendations to the Japanese Government. It actively participates in international conferences such as CITES and Asian Conservation Allinace and distributes their reports. Through awareness raising campaigns including various symposia and panel exhibitions, the public is informed about the consumption of endangered species products and the illegal wildlife products in the domestic market.
