Kamehameha Schools

The Kamehameha Schools is an educational system including three K-12 campuses, 30 preschools, and a broad range of educational outreach programs. The Schools were established by the legacy of Princess Bernice Pauahi Bishop, with a perpetual endowment which includes lands she inherited from her Kamehameha family. Today the Kamehameha Schools owns more than 364,000 acres in Hawai’i, making it the state’s largest private landowner. These lands include invaluable and abundant assets: 63 miles of ocean frontage, historic fishponds, 100 miles of streams, tropical and dryland forests, lava fields, montaintop watersheds, and important ecosystems for globally-rare native plant and animal communities.
