Korkeasaaren eläintarhan Säätion

Korkeasaaren eläintarhan säätiö is a non-profit foundation that runs the Korkeasaari Zoo in Helsinki, Finland. The most important mission of the foundation is to conserve biodiversity, and every visit to the zoo supports this work. The foundation is part of the Helsinki City Group. Korkeasaari Zoo is the biggest zoo in Finland and one of the country’s most popular leisure destinations. Every year, it attracts around half a million visitors, inspiring them to learn and to take action for the nature. Korkeasaari Zoo takes part in the EAZA ex-situ programmes and species reintroduction programmes, and funds multiple international conservation projects to ensure the future of the species. Research at Korkeasaari Zoo aims to improve the success of conservation work, increase animal welfare, and to support environmental education. Finland’s largest care facility for injured and orphaned wild animals, the Wildlife Hospital, is also part of the zoo's operations.
