Malawi Environmental Endowment Trust

The Malawi Environment Endowment Trust (MEET) is a sustainable funding mechanism for the promotion of better environmental management through a grant-making facility for environmental projects in Malawi. MEET supports a wide range of projects that are demand-driven by communities, NGOs and Government departments. Besides soil and water conservation and afforestation projects, MEET is active in supporting environmental education, natural resources-based enterprises, eco-tourism, fisheries and renewable energies. Among other things, MEET has today assisted the Department of Parks and Wildlife of Malawi in game fencing (30km stretch); supported the training of 8 students pursuing a Master`s degree in Environmental studies; and is supporting catchment management of Kamuzu Dam I and II.
