National Marine Data and Information Service

National Marine Data and Information Service (NMDIS) is a government funded public institution subordinates to the Ministry of Natural Resources of People's Republic of China. The mandate of NMDIS includes marine informationization, marine data management, ocean policy research, marine integrated management support, and international exchange on ocean data and information. It has a employee team of 413, with 177 senior researchers from different professional background such as oceanography, biology, computer science, etc.
