Zoologisk Have København

Copenhagen Zoo was founded in 1859 and is one of the oldest zoos in Europe. It comprises of 11 hectares and with approx. 1,2 million visitors yearly is the most visited zoo in Denmark. The zoo coordinates a number of European breeding programmes and is active in the breeding of several endangered species. Since 2002 Copenhagen Zoo has hosted the Regional Resource Centers for IUCN SSC CPSG Europe (Conservation Planning Specialist Group) setting up CPSG network in Europe. CPSG saves threatened species by increasing the effectiveness of conservation efforts.
