IUCN aims to strengthen the effectiveness of protected and conserved areas, whilst ensuring that these areas are governed and managed in an equitable manner.
To do this, IUCN provides expertise and knowledge, such as through Governance Assessments and the IUCN Green List Standard. Local changemakers are also provided with resources through grant-making initiatives such as the BIOPAMA and BEST programmes, and provision of cutting edge technology through Tech4Nature.
