This publication, developed by the IUCN-led UN Decade Science Task Force (STF), provides guidance for integrating scientific knowledge into Flagship implementation plans.
As part of the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration (2021-2030), World Restoration Flagships represent inspiring, scalable projects that demonstrate how collective action can heal ecosystems and support livelihoods. Scientific knowledge acts as a supportive ally in large scale restoration initiatives, complementing local wisdom and practical experience to enhance project effectiveness and equity. This document enables participants to follow successful Flagship examples or develop new ones, whether in tropical forests, drylands or coral reefs and explore how to translate science into action, through critical practical steps.
