IUCN Key messages for BBNJ Prep Com III
IUCN’s primary objective at Prep Com 3 is to contribute to an early effective, fair and equitable implementation framework that ensures the conservation and sustainable use of marine biodiversity beyond national jurisdiction.
IUCN calls for member states to continue exchanging in good faith to start laying the foundation for rapid, effective, and equitable implementation of the BBNJ Agreement, with the core principles of transparency, collaboration, inclusivity, practicality and futureproofing.
