Plastic pollution solutions at the forefront with the IUCN Ubuntoo community

The Plastic Waste Free Islands IUCN Ubuntoo "Greenhouse" currently holds hundreds of product and practical solutions along with knowledge resources, a news feed about plastic leakage and pollution, and welcomes nearly 800 members. It resides within the Ubuntoo environmental solutions platform, to build capacity on plastic pollution solutions.

We encourage you to become members today to learn more and showcase your solution, look for partners globally, and keep up to date on new technologies, policies, and guidance for solving the plastic pollution problem.

The IUCN Ubuntoo Greenhouse aims to

  • Build a community to share knowledge and transfer information on solving the plastic pollution crisis
  • Feature the work that has been carried out to promote circular economy
  • Demonstrate effective, quantifiable solutions that can address plastic leakage
  • Highlight commercially viable solutions (products and services) along the plastic waste value chain
  • Share policy knowledge and proposed interventions including blueprints and toolkits

The solutions are filterable by location, organization type, stage of development, plastic waste value chain impact, industry, plastic targeted, and a feature for organizations seeking expertise, partnerships and more.

The knowledge products include reports and articles, best practices and data briefs, business plans, case studies, how to guides, scientific articles, and more.

The Ubuntoo Greenhouse collaboration space allows members to share knowledge and best practices and provides collaboration opportunities for those working on the elimination of plastic pollution of marine environment.
