The IUCN Water Programme has since 2001 implemented the Water and Nature Initiative (WANI). The Initiative coordinated a portfolio of projects demonstrating sustainable river basin management and associated support for learning and policy influencing.
Results from the WANI portfolio provide extensive lessons, evidence and stories on how to implement Integrated Water Resources Management using an ecosystem-based approach.
The first titles of the new WANI case studies, include:
- Environmental Flows
- Komadugu Yobe Basin, upstream of Lake Chad, Nigeria
- Pangani River Basin, Tanzania
