Leveraging partnerships

Representatives from IUCN, the IUCN Commission on Ecosystem Management (CEM), the Chinese State Forestry Administration (SFA), and the Beijing Municipal Government shake hands at the start of the first World Forum on Ecosystem Governance in Beijing

The significant environmental and sustainability issues being faced by the planet today will only be effectively managed if all sectors work together to find and implement solutions.

IUCN represents an extraordinary partnership of states and civil society. We find strength in our numbers and in our diversity, allowing us to bring both breadth and depth to our understanding of country-specific, regional and global challenges.

Around the region we are working with governments, the private sector and communities to put the latest science and knowledge into practice. We are helping to restore forests, rivers and wetlands, and bring our oceans back to life.

IUCN programmes, projects and activities in Asia are implemented together with IUCN Members and partners from the region. We are able to draw expert advise from a pool of more than 2,500 experts from Asia in our Commissions. Our work is coordinated by a Secretariat of more than 250 staff in our offices in the region.
