The ANB is an agency of the Flemish Government and forms part of the Belgian Ministry of Environment, Nature and Energy. The ANB grew out of a fusion from the former Department of Nature and Forest from the previous Ministry of the Flemish Community. The ANB works to support governance in sustainable development and strengthening of nature, forest, parks and public green spaces in Flanders (from the urban centres throughout the rural areas).
