Department of the Environment & Climate Change, Government of Gibraltar

The Department of the Environment was established in response to increasing interest in environmental matters in Gibraltar. Since its creation, it has been committed to EU policy on the preservation, protection and improvement of the environment. The Department advises on the transposition of EU Directives, Regional and International Conventions, along with the creation of systems to manage the requirements of legal obligations. The team consists of scientific and administrative officers who deal with the whole spectrum of environmental issues, ranging from air quality and waste management to the protection of biodiversity and large scale environmental awareness programmes.
