The Dutch Botanical Research Foundation is the organisation that unites the network of several hundreds of volunteers that conducts the national surveying and plant protection projects organised by the national office of FLORON. In addition, Dutch Botanical Research Foundation organises activities such as excursions, surveying camps and courses to support the aim of the foundation and the projects of the national office. The volunteers are devided over 23 districts, covering the Netherlands, each co-ordinated by one volunteer or a group of volunteers. Many activities are organised and coordinated by these volunteers. The board of the foundation currently consists of five volunteers. The national office with its professional staff was split from Dutch Botanical Research Foundation in 2012 due to financial reasons and became part of the organisation RAVON (Reptile Amphibian and Fish Conservation Netherlands). RAVON already is an IUCN member and the national office is thereby covered. There is a very close cooperation between the Dutch Botanical Research Foundation and the national office.
